Aromatherapy: A Great Way To Relax The Mind

Aromatherapy: A Great Way To Relax The Mind

The science of aromatherapy has been around for eons. Certain herbs release scents that can relax and rejuvenate the body and the mind. Many people don’t hold much faith in the benefits of aromatherapy, nor does the majority of the medical profession promote or use this tool. However, those people who have used aromatherapy to relieve a host of physical problems can attest to its effectiveness.

Our sense of smell is not considered as important as sight or hearing, but our noses are a necessary part of how we function in the world. Our sense of smell protects us from dangerous situations, such as picking up the scent of smoke. It also enhances our lives in so many ways we take it for granted. Not many people can resist the smell of a fresh brewed pot of coffee.

Aromatherapy oils can be used in various ways to relieve physical and emotional problems. For example, a bad headache can linger for awhile, even if aspirin is taken to relieve the pain. Applying an oil or cream such as lavender oil can alleviate pain and enhance an overall sense of well-being.

Certain smells can trigger happy memories and calm us down when we’re stressed. Burning a quality scented candle or spraying high grade essential oils throughout your home can infuse the environment with a pleasing, relaxing ambience. Aromatherapy oils can be used in a variety of ways to improve our physical problems and help us decompress from a stressful, hectic, crazy world.

I first learned of Aromatherapy a few years ago and will once a week now disappear from my family to a nice hot bath with Aromatherapy candles lit and just let my mind heal. Love the site, Pat
